Barça could miss out on Deulofeu as they dally over right side options

The Everton winger still doesn't know what role Barcelona could offer him

The option to sign him for 12 million euros will expire at the end of June

Barcelona must make a U-turn on their negotiating strategy if they want to land Gerard Deulofeu. The club, so far, have only sounded out the player but they have not taken a step forward to try to convince him to come. Deulofeu is, in this sense, waiting for a gesture from the club to know if they want to bring him back for an important role in the team. Meanwhile, Barça must also sit down with agent Gines Carvajal and offer a contract which would signal their their intentions Deulofeu.

Barça, however, are taking everything calmly. Sporting director Robert Fernandez is playing with time, given the club only have until June 30 before their 12 million euro option to sign him from Everton expires. Robert and his staff are looking at the different options available for the right side of Barça's attack, but in all cases there's the same obstacle. Each target fears they will not play regularly due to the MSN trident -- even with the option of Messi playing more centrally from now on.

Borussia Dortmund's Ousmane Dembele is one of the options most liked by Barça, but he turned them down last summer because the German club could offer him regular football. His reputation has shot up since then (he cost 15 million euros) and is worth somewhere around 70 million euros in the current market. And even if Barça did decide to pay the moneny for him, he, too, would want assurances over his role as he hopes to be in the France squad for next summer's Russian World Cup.
