The club feel the 21-year-old could be a good option due to his ability to play anywhere across the front line

The latest name which has come up at Barça as they look to overhaul their forward line is Marcus Rashford. The England international, currently at Manchester United, is a striker who is able to play anywhere across the front line and that's something which impresses Ernesto Valverde.

Barça have begun talks with United over a deal for Rashford as talks between the player and the English club have stalled in recent months. He ticks the boxes of what Barça are after. He's capable on either flank, dragging defenders out of position, but also with an eye for a goal and the workrate to get back and help in defence.

young but experienced

Despite only being 21 years old, Rashford has plenty of first team experience unde rhis belt. He's played 170 matches for Manchester United and 31 for England. Rashford's won the Europa League, the FA Cup, Community Shield and the League Cup.

Any potential deal will be helped by the good relationship shared between Barça's president, Josep Maria Bartomeu and United's CEO, Ed Woodward. The two spoke last summer when a move for Pogba was mentioned but the Premier League side said a transfer wouldn't happen.

A move for Rashford won't be easy though. United don't need to sell anyone they don't want to and Rashford, who came through the academy there, is someone they want to build the 'new' side around.

A KEY MAN AT united

Rashford is loved by the United supporters and they'd hate to see him sold on whatever the price. Unlike in Spain, buyout clauses don't exist in England so you are forced to agree a fee with the selling club. United won't sell for less than €100m. One thing that does count in Barça's favour is the fact his contract has just 12 months to run, despite United's attempts to tie him down to a new five-year deal.

13 goals this season

The young striker matched the scoring total he managed last season by hitting 13 goals. This despite being in and out of the side and starting behind Lukaku for the central striker role.
