Barca conscious that Saudi Arabia showing Lewandowski interest

Robert Lewandowski's name is still on the list of several Saudi Arabian clubs as one of the next stars to be tempted to the desert. He was approached last summer, but the Pole closed the door firmly, yet at Barça they are aware that they are going to come back in June, when he only has one year left on his contract. Everything will depend on the player, who made a great effort to come here and feels very much at home in Barcelona and at Barça.

A few days ago, Lewandowski's name was once again on the lips of players from the Saudi Arabian Abha Club, the team coached by the former Poland national team manager. They referred to him as the big signing for next season. The reality is that both Abha and three other Saudi clubs tried to tempt him, but the moves had no effect.

Lewandowski took a decisive step in his career by leaving Bayern in order to play for Barça. He took the gamble because he was attracted by the project and because he wanted to live in Barcelona, and he has become the team's benchmark player despite the fact that he has not scored regularly this season. Physically, he is a wonder and can play at the highest level for several more seasons.

But Barça are also clear that after the summer he will be in the final year of his contract with the club and many things will be analysed. The idea is to keep him as the leader of the project and even a renewal for another year is not ruled out, depending on his performance and his desire to continue at the highest level. That said, at a different level to the one he arrived at.
