Barça coach Xavi: The return of Dr. Ricard Pruna is fundamental
Xavi Hernandez wants Pruna to return to lead the club's medical department
Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez confirmed he wants Doctor Ricard Pruna to return to the club in a press conference on Friday.
Xavi has already decided to get rid of Lluis Til and Xavi Yanguas, who until now had been in charge of the first team's medical department.
Pruna is who Xavi wants to replace them. He was previously the doctor at Barça during Xavi's time as a player.
"This is an easy one," Xavi said when asked if he wanted Pruna back. "I want to surround myself with people I trust, loyal people and, for me, Ricard Pruna is fundamental.
"He's the best doctor the club has had since I was in the first team. It's important to have him here. I want to thank all the professionals that have been here until now, but I want to be surrounded by people of confidence.
"Pruna is that. He should never have left the club, it was a big mistake, and he's the No.1 to return. He will decide.
For the moment, Xavi Valle, until now Barça B's doctor, has been chosen to help the first team on a provisional basis.
