Barça coach Ronald Koeman: "Messi is once again in his best moment"
Koeman also spoke about Guardiola's success in a number of different jobs
Ronald Koeman has given an exclusive interview to the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf and, in an advance of the comments, he has spoken about Lionel Messi.
The Dutch coach assures that "Messi is once again in his best moment." He feels the forward has recaptured top form in 2021 which has, despite Thursday's loss to Granada, propelled Barça into the La Liga title race.
In the same interview, Koeman also praised Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola.
"I am happy for him," he added. "All of Pep's teams play great football. He's doing it again with City. Although when he was at Barça he had a side that was even more complete and could have had incredible success in football. I saw games in that period and thought they could not get any better. At that moment, Barça were perfect for me.
"We often play attractive football with a lot of young players. So we're on track, as I said, but we're still not there."
Koeman has a great relationship with Guardiola, who he played alongside at Barça.
