After the recent signings of Kessié, Raphinha, Christensen and Lewandowski, Joan Laporta, announced that it was time to reinforce the defence with three key players: Marcos Alonso, Azpilicuieta and Koundé

The Barça president indicated that the club will focus on reinforcing the team's rearguard. "We are now going to work on defence," he confirmed during an interview with Mexican channel TUDN.

"Now it's time to work on defence. Xavi has directed us a series of players and I hope that the Culés can take some more joy. We competed with teams like PSG and Chelsea to sign Robert and he wanted to come here. We have to thank him for that. That and the huge pressure he has had to endure," he said.

He also added that on a personal level he has a good feeling about the team's finances and prospects. "I am relaxed about the levers and the signings. We want to build a competitive team, give Xavi the tools to have a good team and I think we are on the right track."
