Barça celebrate Sevilla's Madrid win in 'comeback' Whatsapp group

The players are now convinced they can win the league for a third consecutive season

Sunday, Jan. 15 at 22.27. From that moment on, the Whatsapp group which involves the Barcelona squad was filled with 'comeback' (remontada) as the common denominator .

At the moment Sergio Ramos scored an own goal, a number of messages flowed in to each players' phone, with Gerard Pique calling for a Sevilla winner. Four minutes later, Stevan Jovetic's goal made that dream a reality.

From the moment referee Hernandez Hernandez blew for full time, messages such as ‘¡Vaaaaamos!’, ‘¡Hay Liga!’, ‘¡Arrebatooo del Sevilllaaaa!’ and many more original messages, including all types of emojis, began to fill the players' phones.

Few expected what happened at the Sanchez Pizjuan, especially after Cristiano Ronaldo had scored a penalty to give Madrid the lead. More than one were about to turn the television off.

And then came five incredible minutes in which Jorge Sampaoli's side not only re-opened the door to the title race for Barça, but established themselves as a candidate, too.

The squad are now convinced that a lot is left to happen in the league and there will be more than one surprise.

"I honestly feel we can turn things around in La Liga. It's a long season and there's a long way to go. Madrid still have tough games in Sevilla, Bilbao and Valencia. We've been to those difficult grounds," Pique said at the beginning of December.

The Catalan defender made the comments when Madrid were six points clear. Now they're one ahead of Sevilla and two clear of Barça.
