Los Che were beaten 2-1 in the Basque Country on Saturday

Barcelona can move eight points ahead of them on Sunday

Barcelona will have the chance to extend their lead at the top of La Liga this weekend after Valencia were beaten 2-1 at Eibar on Saturday.

Valencia, who had only lost once this season going into the weekend, away at Getafe, were downed by a late Joan Jordan goal.

Takashi Inui had given the Basque minnows the lead but Valencia hit back through Santi Mina.

But Eibar won it late on and Valencia may lose second place this weekend, if Atletico win later on Saturday.

Los Che remain five points behind Barça, but could be eight points behind if Ernesto Valverde's side beat Deportivo La Coruna on Sunday.

Atletico could move three points behind over night if they beat Alaves at home.
