Barça Atletic winger Fabio Blanco joins Villarreal B in €700k transfer
Blanco has not lived up to expectations at Barça but now gets a chance in the second division
Barcelona are not only making moves in the first team, on Tuesday the reserve team have completed the transfer of Fabio Blanco to Villareal, a left winger who joined the club in January 2022 but has not enjoyed the confidence of Rafa Márquez this season.
Fabio Blanco signed for Barça Atlètic in exchange for 700,000 euros from Eintracht Frankfurt, an investment that has been fully recovered as he moves for the same price to Villareal B, the 'Groguets' reserve team.
The player will compete in a higher category next season, in the Spanish Second Division, and signs a three-year contract. At 19 years of age, this will be a major challenge in his still short career as a footballer, which now takes a step forward.
The Spaniard has not been part of Rafa Màrquez's plans this year, the coach of Barça Atletic, and he has only played 498 minutes in which he has scored one goal and provided two assists.
In his time as an Azulgrana, he has not lived up to the expectations that were deposited in him when he arrived from Germany and that he had also previously generated in the youth teams of Valencia CF and Almería, his hometown.
