After the Copa del Rey KOs, Spanish football's giants duke it out in the top flight

In midweek Barcelona and Real Madrid suffered historic knock-outs in the Copa del Rey; during the last nine years at least one of the two teams has reached the final.

Now they turn back to Liga action. Real Madrid's men head to Pamplona and El Sadar, facing Osasuna at 4pm, where Barcelona drew in the first round of fixtures. Barca, for their part, face Rubi's Real Betis at the Benito Villamarin.

Barca will have pressure on them whatever happens. If Madrid win, then they go six points ahead. If they lose, Barca are obliged to win to catch up with Los Blancos.

Barca also need to start thinking about goal difference. Madrid are ahead by one goal at the moment. If they draw in the next Clasico it could come down to that because head-to-head might be even.
