Barca aiming to get Alejandro Balde deal renewed

| sport

Alex Balde has joined the Blaugrana pre-season training camp after recovering from a partial rupture of the external lateral ligament in his right ankle, which he suffered in the penultimate league game and which has kept him out of action for around six weeks. The full-back is back to full fitness and as an undisputed starter and Barça are working to seal his renewal until 2027 with an agreement almost reached. They want everything to be signed before the start of La Liga.

Balde's contract expires in June 2024 and progress has been made on his continuity, which is absolutely key for the club. Barça have clearly opted for him by giving Jordi Alba freedom to leave, so he will be the clear starter on the left flank with Marcos Alonso as his back-up. The club's idea was to extend his contract for three more years while maintaining the clause of 1,000 million euros and the only thing missing is the signature.

The Blaugrana have assured his agent, Jorge Mendes, that Balde's new contract will be registered immediately with LaLiga so there will be no problems in this regard. Balde has always been willing to continue and the club's relations with his entourage are very fluid. Mendes has held several market meetings with Barça and in the next few days he plans to return to discuss this matter and the renewal of Lamine Yamal, who is going to become another of the big bets by the club for this season.
