Barca and AC Milan battle over Juan Miranda brewing

| sport

Juan Miranda is one of the players that Barça is monitoring for the future. The Blaugrana club still retains fifty percent of his rights, but this summer he finishes his contract with Betis and they could lose them. That is why they expect him to renew although it seems that the talks are complicated. In Italy they claim that Milan and Barça are bidding for the player. The 'Corriere dello Sport' paper indicates that the two clubs have contacted his entourage to talk about his future.

Barça, as SPORT have reported, are most interested in Miranda renewing his contract with Betis to keep a percentage of the player, but if he does not, they could consider taking a step forward to keep him on a free transfer. Everything will depend on what the player wants to do, since both in Milan and Barça he will have a tough competition and it would be difficult for him to become a starter.

Miranda already trained at Barça, but never had too many opportunities so he decided to leave for Betis, where he has been confirmed as one of the most promising left backs in the European market. The player has always been identified with the green and white club but would like to take an important step in his career and understands that his time could have come. In Barça he is very well-liked and could become the second left-back if Marcos Alonso does not renew.

Barca already are looking at some options for young fullbacks that could arrive at zero cost apart from Miranda. One of them is Ian Maatsen, who plays for Chelsea and for now has not extended his contract. The Dutch international is highly valued at Barça although no decision has been made yet.
