Barcelona are facing elimination from the group stage after failing to beat Inter

Barcelona's Champions League campaign looks to be over for another year after they were held to a 3-3 draw by Inter Milan at Camp Nou on Wednesday.

Inter need just three points from their final two games against Viktoria Plzen and Bayern Munich to book their place in the last 16 courtesy of their superior head to head record against Barça.

For Xavi's side, another run in the Europa League looks likely in the new year after they failed to beat Inter.

Roared on by a crowd of over 90,000 they took the lead through Ousmane Dembele before half-time but goals after the break from Nicolo Barella and Lautaro Martinez turned the game on its head.

Robert Lewandowski drew Barça level at 2-2 but Robin Gosens restored Inter's lead on the break to break Barça hearts.

Lewandowski added a second to give Barça fresh hope but the goal came in six minutes of stoppage time and Xavi's side ran out of seconds.

In fact, it was Inter who came closest to scoring again, with Marc-Andre ter Stegen forced into two late saves to keep Barça hanging in the Champions League... but oinly just and maybe not really.
