Atletico offer new stadium as a permanent Copa del Rey final venue

This year's Copa del Rey final is currently without a venue. The game is between Barcelona and Alaves

Atletico Madrid have offered a solution to the RFEF to end the constant year-on-year debate about where the Copa del Rey final should be played.

According to radio station Cadena SER the board of Atletico have started conversations with the Spanish FA over the possibility of using their new stadium, the Wanda Metropolitano, as a fixed final venue.

The new stadium, ready in the summer, fulfils the various conditions to be used for the final, it has a central location and 67,000 capacity.

Atletico are also hoping the 2018-19 Champions League final is played at their ground and have applied to UEFA for it.
