Atletico Madrid eye Rabiot as replacement for City target Rodri

Atletico Madrid are exploring the possibility of signing Adrien Rabiot this summer if they are unable to hold on to Rodri, who could join Manchester City. Pep Guardiola's side are prepared to pay the midfielder's 70 million euros release clause. 

While Atletico will do everything they can to keep Rodri, who Diego Simeone is desperate not to lose, they won't get involved in an auction if it comes down to wage demands. 

For that reason, they have begun to look for an alternative option and the possibility of bringing Rabiot to the Wanda Metropolitano next season is gaining strength. The France midfielder can leave PSG for free this summer but is looking for a club to pay him between 10 and 15 million euros per season. 

Atletico will make an effort to sign Rabiot, although other clubs are also monitoring his situation, like Manchester United and Juventus.
