Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are facing punishments from the Competition Committee after Saturday's 1-1 draw at the Wanda -- the Rojiblanco even risk having their stadium partly closed.

Referee Jesus Gil Manzano explained in his post game report that objects were thrown in the 89th minute after the Barça equaliser, listing "various bottles" among other things.

That takes us to Article 15 of the Disciplinary Code and the responsibility of clubs. It states that if anyone on the pitch, the sideline or in the dugout is put in danger, action can be taken against the club depending on the severity of the incidents.

As there were no injuries, Atletico are unlikely to face the strongest punishment, but it's not impossible that the Competition Committee consider it a serious breach.

If they do, they could carry out a partial closure of the stadium: as long at they can clearly identify which section of the ground the objects came from. There would also be a fine in this case of up to €3,006.

A fine is the most likely option, though, according to Article 101. The fine would be €6000 and it would come with a suspended closure of the ground, warning against any similar events this season.

As for Barcelona, they could be fined €3000 for the delay in coming out for the second half.

Gil Manzano noted: "The second half started two minutes and 20 second late, because the visiting team delayed their return from the dressing room, having been previously warned on various occasions."
