It would be seen as a blow now if Barça fail to sign the Norway striker

The Athletic journalist David Ornstein has reported Monday that Manchester City and Real Madrid are the favourites to sign Erling Haaland this summer.

He adds that Haaland could also make his decision in the coming weeks about where he will play next season.

"The clubs that hope to sign him expect to know his decision in the coming weeks," Ornstein says. "The believe it will be Madrid or Man City.

"Madrid want Mbappe this year and Haaland next year, but they could make the move now and City are ready to sign the Norway striker now, although they won't wait long."

This information comes days after L'Esportiu revealed that Xavi and Jordi Cruyff travelled to Munich last week to speak with Haaland, explain the BArça project and their plans for him. Xavi has not denied said meeting, although president Joan Laporta says Barça are not negotiating with anyone yet.

In any case, it's clear that Barça fans have grown excited about the possibility of signing Haaland, so if he doesn't move to Camp Nou it will be seen as a blow -- especially if he signs for Madrid.
