Athletic Club have not given up hope of keeping Ernesto Valverde
Despite speculation the president of the club says nothing is settled regarding the coach's future

Despite speculation, president of Athletic Club Josu Urrutia does not know if coach Ernesto Valverde will leave for Barcelona in the summer.
He spoke to the media and was asked about it. “We are waiting to have a more concrete conversation with Valverde,” he said. “It’s normal in football that these things happen. It’s happened twice with Ernesto two times and it could happen again. What ever happens, things will be done with discretion.”
The Bilbao chief added: “Nobody can say we have spoken to any other coach. Valverde is the first option.
“Ernesto is doing very good work and knows that this club is always moving forward. Here the important thing is the team. We have no fear and we will go forward united as one.”
Valverde’s contract with the Bilbao side expires in June this summer.
