"He is similar to Luis Suarez, he is a player that everyone would want"

Lionel Scaloni, the current Argentina coach, has spoken about the possibility of international teammates Lautaro Martinez and Lionel Messi linking up at club level for Barcelona.

Inter Milan striker Lautaro is Barça's No.1 target this summer as they look to bring in a long-term replacement for Luis Suarez, who turned 33 in January.

"He is a similar player to Luis Suarez, he is a player that everyone would want to have in their team," Scaloni told Cadena Ser. "Lautaro is the striker that is in fashion. He is young and has an incredible projection, incredibly eager to succeed. Everyone is looking at him because he is young and talented."

Messi has phoned Lautaro to ask him to join him at Camp Nou next season and Scaloni says the two have a good relationship.

"It's logical that they want to play together, they get along well," the Argentina coach added. "They understand each other well. We would like that. They have already played together in the national team. For the national team, the more games they play, the better.

"But I honestly believe it's not going to be easy. The first thing that I think of is how easy is it going to be to get Lautaro away from Inter? Inter are a big club, with a powerful president...it's not going to be easy. I hope he does what is best for him."
