The former Barcelona youth football coordinator is the focus of a big investigation

Barcelona’s former youth football coordinator Albert Benaiges has been denounced for sexually abusing minors, write Diari ARA. The Catalan newspaper has conducted an investigation which accuses him of crossing red lines during his 38 years as a PE teacher at a school in Les Corts in Barcelona.

Over 60 people have told ARA their experiences with Benaiges, which is the reason he left Barcelona a week ago on December 2.

ARA’s investigation claims Benaiges masturbated with children, played sexual games with them and touched them among other crimes.

Benaiges denies he touched any children but says that he would not repeat anything he did in that era.

Benaiges rejoined the club with Joan Laporta’s recent election win. He was coordinating the youngest levels and had made some changes, like getting the wingers to play on their natural foot and limiting the distances the full backs attacked to.
