The former Real Madrid player believes he could have hit Messi's heights

"I'm a problematic guy, but I could have been like Messi, Neymar and few others"

Italian forward Antonio Cassano, currently without a team, made some comments to Rai Sport in which he assured he could have been as good as Lionel Messi if his head had been in the right place and his habits had been better.

"I am a problematic guy, as I never know what mood I'm going to wake up in," said Cassano. "I could've been playing on another planet, but I had this issue that I didn't like training and I wanted to eat the way I felt like at the time and I ruined myself."

In a show of humility, the former Real Madrid, Inter and Milan forward admitted he was his own worst enemy, although perhaps he was exaggerating when he said "if I'd had another head on my shoulders, I could've been playing on Mars. I'd be like Lionel Messi, Neymar and few others."

Despite being 35 now and not having a team, Cassano does not consider himself retired: "I see a real decline in Italian football, in terms of organisation, not talent. Serie A  games bore me, I prefer to watch the kids in the park," said the always controversial player.
