Antoine Griezmann breaks his partnership with Huawei over Uighur issue
The French international published a post on Instagram saying he was no longer linked with them
Antoine Griezmann has ended a partnership with Huawei Technology, because of China’s treatment of Uighur Muslims.
“I announce that I am putting an end immediately to my partnership linking me with this company,” Griezmann said on Instagram.
China have been detaining Uighurs in the Xinjiang province, but the country denies abuses against them.
The Washington Post reported that Huawei had been testing software capable of sending automated alerts when cameras picked up members of the Uighur group, leading to Griezmann breaking his deal with them.
