The French forward has not lived up to expectations in the north of England

Anthony Martial wants to leave Manchester United in January. The French forward has started just twice in the Premier League and made five sub appearances.

“He just needs to play, he doesn’t want to be here in January and we will soon speak with the club,” said Philippe Lamboley, his agent, on Sky Sports news. “Anthony wants to leave the club in January.”

The 26 year old has been linked with Barcelona. On his recent visit to Manchester Mateu Alemany, Barcelona’s director of football, expressed his interest in the player, although he prefers Ferran Torres.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival in Manchester has left Martial without much opportunity. His best season was 19-20, where he scored 23 goals and got nine assists.

He nabbed seven with five assists in 36 games last season and this year has just one goal.

Back in the day he drew comparisons to Thierry Henry but has not matched expectations since leaving Monaco in 2015 for Old Trafford.
