The Barcelona forward is nearly back from his knee injury and is ready to reappear

Light at the end of the tunnel. Ansu Fati will feel the sweet sensation of playing for Barcelona again on September 20, against Granada. He’s been out for almost a year. Between then and the day he was injured, 317 days have passed. It’s been a wild ride of emotions. Worry, about his knee not recovering as it should have and more operations piling on top of one another. And most recently excitement and joy at getting the No 10 shirt.

Ansu scored four goals in the first seven gameweeks last season but then suffered his injury against Real Betis. At the time many thought he could be Barca’s No 9.

After his initial operation he needed three more, the most recent of which was in Porto in May.

Now he’s back in the group working and training. He will not feature against Bayern but Granada is his target.
