Angel Di Maria came out in defence of Leo Messi after he was banned for four games by FIFA. The PSG star could not hold his tongue after the team’s 4-1 victory over Monaco.
“The biggest surprise was how quickly they handed out the sanction. In that game, I was berating the referee too, and other players as well. Nothing else was seen of that because they went for Leo. The important thing is the AFA do the best they can to reduce the sanction,” he said.
Di Maria also spoke about the hypothetical departure of coach Edgardo Bauza. “We are always united, they come for us on all sides but we continue on the same path and try to achieve our objectives. I’m not going to think about the rumours of the coach’s exit.”
