The Barcelona captain hailed the Argentine star, his team-mate at Barca
FC Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta hailed Lionel Messi as football's indisputable No 1 star.
In an interview with RAC1 to celebrate the end of his 22 years at Barca, Iniesta highlighted the Rosario-born star's genius.
"He's the best I have seen," on a football pitch, explained Iniesta, "there's nobody else like him".
Iniesta did not want to get involved in a debate over Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, of Real Madrid, with both on five Ballon d'Ors.
"Prizes are not football, they are part of football."
For Iniesta, the Ballon d'Or is a result of "people who vote and judge, and it's a very nice prize that whoever wins likes to have, but it doesn't have much to do (with who is the best)."
