The midfielder was complimentary when asked about Lucho's No.2

He also spoke skindly about Ernesto Valverde, another of the contenders

Andres Iniesta had words of praise for Juan Carlos Unzue, Luis Enrique's No.2 and one of the candidates to replace him next season.

Speaking at a promotional event for TAG Heuer at Corte Ingles on Wednesday, the Barcelona captain said: “He’s already worked as a coach in the past

“There’s still time to go before we know who will be the manager, but Juan Carlos knows how everything works. He is with us every day and like I said he has coached other teams, too.

“He’s a well-prepared, capable coach and at the moment he’s looking forward to ending the season well and hitting our targets."

As diplomatic as ever, Iniesta also spoke well of Ernesto Valverde, the Athletic Club coach who is also in the running for the jon.

The midfielder added: "It's all hypothetical at the moment. If that was the case, we'd be talking about a great manager. Wherever he's been he's done well and he has a recognisable style.

“The club will decide [on the new manager], but [whoever it is] will have everyone’s support.”
