Aleña happy to take Luis Enrique's criticism on board after Hercules goal

The midfielder was brought back down to earth by his coach after scoring on his debut last week

Barcelona B player Carles Aleña spoke to La Graderia on Cadena Ser where he naturally took Luis Enrique's criticism on board after the game against Hercules.

"The truth is that it's good for Luis Enrique to put the squeeze on me so that when you score a goal you don't get too carried away and then bump back down to the ground."

Aleña scored his first goal for the club's first team in the Copa del Rey game against Hercules. It was a great goal, fired home from outside the area to earn a 1-1 draw.

It made him the story of the night, but Luis Enrique wanted to ensure he kept the teenager grounded.

The Barça boss said: "If I got hold of him in the first half I'd have given him a clip around the ear!

"He has a lot of potential, but positionally he has to improve things. At 46 I can recieve the ball in easy areas of the pitch."

The Barcelona B player commented that it "was a criticism more of my positional play, I was playing [the ball] behind the interiors, I was playing it really easily, [Luis Enrique] said he could play there...

"In the second half I tried to get between the lines. The goal is what stays with people, but I wasn't at a great level. It was also to do with nerves of my first game."
