The club's fourth captain was asked about his current contractual situation

In a press conference following last night's game, Jordi Alba confirmed what Gerard Piqué had already said with regards to the proposed wage cuts for Barça's 'four captains'.

The Hospitalet-born left back complained that "there have been rumours about my situation for a long time. I haven't been told anything in the last month. I've always been willing to help. Nobody can have any doubts about that, I've been here for eight years now. Barça is my home and the club of my life. I am willing to answer questions and will speak for myself, but you should also consider asking the president [about the proposed cuts]. We all want the same thing. There cannot be any doubts about the players who have spent so long at the club".

WILLING

Alba expressed his disappointment at people doubting his willingness to help the club. "It hurts me that lies have been spread about me", he said, "I've demonstrated everything that I feel for the club, and it's important to be grateful in this life. I can't control what people think [about me], but I have every right to give my version of events. There comes a point at which I need to show my face, and I'm always going to give my all on the pitch. I've always been willing to help. I'm always straight with everyone and I always tell the truth".

On the return of fans to Camp Nou, Alba said "We are very happy to have our fans [back] with us. It's been a very difficult year-and-a-half. We aren't quite at full capacity yet, but the impact of the fans is noticeable".
