Al-Shabab make the first offer for Martin Braithwaite
His future at Barça is in the balance, but a final decision is still a while away
The future of Martin Braithwaite is further away from Camp Nou every day. The Dane is one of Xavi Hernandez's discards for the new look squad for the 2022/23 season and has already been left out of the preseason tour of the United States. The club does not count on him, but he still resists leaving.
The Blaugrana club had hoped to earn some transfer fees, but relations between the two parties are very tense. With two years to go until the end of his contract with Barça, the situation is more deadlocked than would be desired by either.
According to Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari, Saudi Arabian side Al-Shabab have already made an initial offer to Barça to sign Braithwaite. The aforementioned information adds that there is still no agreement between all parties, but negotiations are still ongoing.
His departure should be finalized soon, although it should be remembered that the transfer market in Saudi Arabia is extended until September 17, so 43 more days that this could go on. After Mingueza, Riqui Puig and Neto; Braithwaite should be one to go next.
