The club took advantage of the transfer market closing to joke about Barca's transfer efforts
The summer transfer market closed on Friday night, so Barcelona could not pry Frenkie De Jong away from Ajax. The Dutch club decided to make a banter about it.
They sent out a video on social media titled 'Meanwhile, in Amsterdam..." In the video sporting director Marc Overmars is bored in his office, until the clock strikes midnight.
Once it does, and the window is shut, he digs deep in a drawer to find his mobile phone, on which he has a long list of missed calls from big European sides, including Barcelona, PSG, Dortmund and Man City. Overmars deletes some of Barcelona's calls before leaving his office.
With the video Ajax are showing their lack of interest in listening to Barcelona who wanted De Jong. Ajax kept most of their star names including Ziyech and De Jong.
