The former presidential candidate may abandon his current motion

If he gets the signatures and the vote fails he cannot do it again for a year

Former Barcelona presidential candidate Agusti Benedito is thinking about abandoning his motion to put the board to a vote of confidence. According to Benedito on TVE this Monday, members of his team are ready to stop trying to collect signatures, which stand at 11,000.

“There are two forms of thinking inside the team,” said Benedito, who will have to take a decision before Wednesday. “There are those who tell me it’s better to stop, stop the vote of no confidence,” he said.

The doubts over whether to continue come from various questions. In first place Benedito maintains the deadline is October 2, despite the club saying it’s September 27 at 23.30.

On the other hand for now Benedito has 11,000 signatures and needs just 5,500 more to put the motion forward. If he does not present them then he can try again in the coming months. If he does present them and the motion does not pass, club statutes block a new motion for one year. So that’s why he’s considering giving up on the censorship motion for now.
