Afghan boy Murtaza completes his dream of meeting Barça star Messi

The two met in Qatar on Tuesday, where Barcelona are playign a friendly against Al-Ahli

Murtaza Ahmadi could not believe it. All of a sudden he was in the arms of the best footballer in the history of the game. Of his hero. Of Lionel Messi, who he's followed and admited with unconditional devotion.

It happened in Qatar, coinciding with Barcelona's friendly against Al-Ahli in Doha. The story dates back to the beginning of the year, when  young Murtaza, from Afghanistan, became an Internet sensation after being pictured in an Argentian shirt made from a plastic bag.

In the image Murtaza was wearing the blue and white bag, which had Lionel Messi's name and number written on the back in pen.

After the image went viral and the boy was located, Messi sent and official Argentina shirt and signed it. He also sent a Barcelona shirt, too.

"I’m very happy to have met my hero," Murtaza said after the meeting. "It is a dream for me. I can’t wait to see Messi at the game, it will be the first time for me in the stadium.”
