Adrien Rabiot's strategy to leave Paris Saint-Germain
Being left on the bench against Marseille was the final straw for the midfielder
That Adrien Rabiot will soon leave Paris Saint-Germain is an open secret. It's not known if it will be in January or for free next summer. The French midfielder's situation in Paris is becoming unsustainable and his agents have been working on a very calculated strategy for a few weeks now.
According to RMC Sport, Rabiot has decided he will not sit at the table with PSG chief Nasser Al Khelaifi, who had asked for a position on his future by the end of the week. Despite the French club's attempts to keep the midfielder and offer him a new deal, Rabiot has refused to negotiate since his surprising absence in the game against Bordeaux.
That was the last chapter, although it started when Rabiot arrived late for the game against Marseille. The reason for his tardiness was that he was watching the Clasico between Barcelona and Real Madrid. Kylian Mbappe was also late for the same reason and according to L'Equipe that's why they were both punished by coach Thomas Tuchel by being left out of the XI.
Since that game, there have been various disagreements between Rabiot and his coach. One of them was against Liverpool. The player learned in training that he wasn't in the side and it was leaked that he wouldn't even be on the bench. Finally, he made the squad, coming on for the final minutes.
Then, against Bordeaux at the weekend, he didn't take part at all. It was the straw which broke the camel's back and forced him to make the decision to leave PSG. Barça are waiting.
