The French champions offered him €9m per season plus bonuses but Rabiot wants at least €10m and a hefty signing on fee

Adrien Rabiot has rejected a fourth contract offer from PSG. According to 'Paris United', the negotiations with the French midfielder are turning into a major headache and there's no immediate sign of a solution being found. From the 1st January, Rabiot will be free to speak with other clubs and agree contract terms on a move away.

PSG increased their last offer by €2m, going up from €7m plus bonuses to €9m plus bonuses.

This is a verbal offer and no papers have been sent to the player. However this is the current proposal.

The initial response from Rabiot and his people wasn't what PSG were expecting. Apparently the player is unwilling to sign any contract unless he earns €10m per season as well as a substational signing on fee. PSG, who are under the microscope already when it comes to Financial Fair Play, aren't willing to pay such inflated sums for the 23-year-old.

interest from other clubs

It isn't the only problem facing PSG though. There are a lot of clubs, one of which being Barcelona, who are contact with the player's mother and agent, Veronique, and are willing to match the player's demands. This is yet another obstacle in PSG's quest to secure Rabiot's future.

In France they're certain that the player's priority right now is to stay with PSG, the club he came through the youth ranks with. Nasser Al-Khelaifi closed the door on any potential sale during the summer and insists he wants the player to remain at the club beyond June 2019.

The very public negotations are causing debates amongst the dressing room and there's a fear this could impact their performances on the pitch. However that doesn't seem to be the case right now as PSG are leading the way in Ligue 1 and recently destroyed Red Star Belgrade 6-1 in the Champions League.
