Jordi Cardoner, vice president at Barcelona, has confirmed that the club won't take legal action against the allegations levelled at them - and Abidal - over his liver transplant

Barcelona's vice president, Jordi Cardoner, spoke at a press conference for Area Social and the Fundacio, the latter of which he is also a vice president for. The Barcelona director talked about various projects he was working on, one of which was creating a direct line for club members and season ticket holders as many have been moved from their usual seats as ongoing work takes place at the Camp Nou.

He also spoke about people using false club memberships, the attendances at the Camp Nou as well as the topic of refugees and Luis Enrique as Spain's new national team coach.

Another important topic that Cardoner didn't want to forget about was the case surrounding Eric Abidal. The director called the allegations of irregularities in the liver transplant which was given to Abidal as "ethically reprehensible information" and should never have been made public. He also said that the club wouldn't be taking legal action against the media outlets which published the information.

On the same topic, Cardoner said the whole situation had been unfair. "It's quite clear what the facts are and we wouldn't allow anyone to doubt the integrity of Abidal or the role the club played. We should feel proud of how Cataluña deals with transplants. We're a leading example in the world," concluded Barça's vice president.
