The young winger will be promoted to the first team ahead of next season

Abde Ezzalzouli will get a first-team chance at Barcelona next season despite reports he could have been sold or let out on loan this summer.

The club have communicated to the Moroccan winger that he will be promoted to the first-team and given a shirt number as plans for the 2022-23 campaign ramp up.

Abde's promotion is more than likely to be connected to the Ousmane Dembele situation. The French winger has still not agreed a new contract at Camp Nou and, with his deal up next month, the club expect him to leave unless he accepts a significant pay cut.

With Adama Traore's loan also coming to the end, Abde will be one of the only pure wingers in the squad. Barça hope to united him with Raphinha, the Leeds United winger, and it remains to be seen what happens with Alex Collado.

Abde, 20, enjoyed a good run in the first team earlier this season but dropped back to the B team after the club invested in three attacking signings in January.

Despite that, the coaching staff have faith in his ability and his quality and have decided he deserves a chance following his performances with the reserves this season.
