A new mystery in Aleix Vidal's Barcelona career as he misses training

Andres Iniesta and Samuel Umtiti are progressing well from injuries, but Vidal was missing for 'personal reasons' as Barça stepped up preparations for Sunday's trip to San Sebastian

Barcelona returned to training on Friday after the win at Celtic Park. The Blaugrana trained at the Ciutat Esportiva with two players missing: Aleix Vidal and Arda Turan.

The first of those, the club said, for “personal reasons”, while the latter has a fever and is a doubt for the game on Sunday against Real Sociedad.

Given Vidal’s situation during the last few months, it seems logical that his absence will create all types of speculation, with a January departure expected.

Meanwhile, Andres Iniesta took a step forward in his recovery and was able to rejoin training with his teammates with eight days to go until the Clasico.

Samuel Umtiti, who injured his hamstring on France duty, was also present, although he worked on his own to the side of the rest of the players, doing strength and fitness work specific to his recovery.

In addition, Marlon, who made his first team debut at Celtic Park, Paik, Moises, Mujica and Aleña were also involved in the first team’s training session.
