The forward signed for Atletico on loan from Barcelona on deadline day last week

Antoine Griezmann spoke for the first time on Wednesday after returning to Atletico Madrid from Barcelona on deadline day.

After being presented, and having trained with his new teammates, the France forward spoke to the club's official media channels.

“I’m really happy,” Griezmann said. “I’ve been ten days unable to sleep because I was waiting for this moment, but now I’m enjoying it with my family.

"I’m going to give everything to repay the great effort the club made to bring me back. My part was easy. I wanted to come back no matter what; it’s always been the best place for me, the place where I’m happy on and off the pitch.”

On working with coach Diego Simeone again, he added: "I owe Cholo a lot in my professional life. I've had some of the best moments of my professional and private life with him. He's always been a huge help. I am happy, it's a huge honour."

Griezmann, 30, has joined Atletico on loan for a fee of 10 million euros. The Rojiblanco will have to pay 40 million to make the move permanent if he plays 50 percent of games this season.
