Felix has been linked with a move to the Premier League but looks likely to stay put

The president of Atlético Madrid, Enrique Cerezo, has said that Joao Félix has a "long contract" with the club and "it would normal for him to stay" following doubts about the forward's future.

"Unless you (the media) tell me something different, the destination (of Joao) continues to be Atlético," Cerezo said.

"He is an Atlético player, he has a long contract and as far as I know I have not heard anything about anyone coming to buy him.

"He is an Atlético player and the normal thing would be that he stays."

Felix has been linked with Premier League sides, including Manchester United, and Atletico had previously appeared to open the door for him to leave.

However, he has played his way back into Diego Simeone's plans and started Sunday's 1-0 loss to Barcelona.
