Xavi Hernández has won his second major trophy as a manager after his Al-Sadd side claimed the Crown Prince Cup. Al-Sadd eased past Al Duhail to record a 4-0 victory. Veteran Algerian striker, Baghdad Bounedjah, was named man of the match after scoring a brace in the final. Nam Tae Hee and Akram Afif scored the other goals.

Nam opened the scoring with just five minutes on the clock. It wasn't until the 21st minute when Al-Sadd really took control of proceedings. Bounedjah took advantage of a poor clearance to double the lead. Bounedjah made it 3-0 before half-time. Afif converted a penalty with 20 minutes to go to complete the beating.

Xavi, after being heavily linked with a move to FC Barcelona, calmly picked up the second trophy of his managerial career. Al-Sadd are currently third in the Qatar Stars League and find themselves nine points behind the beat they just beat: Al-Duhail.
