Moroccon international Yassine Bono: Eliminating Spain would be historic

The Sevilla goalkeeper is ambitious and is not satisfied with a last-16 finish.

The Morocco-Spain game will be a special match for Yassine Bono, Morocco's first-choice goalkeeper who plays for Sevilla, where he moved from Girona.

Bono assessed the Round of 16 knockout tie against Luis Enrique's side, a team he knows inside out.

"We've already made history by reaching the Round of 16, but we want more. To eliminate Spain would be to create history in this World Cup and also in our country's football ".

The Moroccan goalkeeper is looking forward to the match. The dressing room exudes optimism and the objective now is to continue making history.

"We want to make our people happy again. We are preparing thoroughly. Morocco have been getting better and better at the World Cup with each passing game and I'm sure we'll be in good shape for the match against Spain," said the goalkeeper.

Bono will be up against some of his Spanish La Liga rivals, and that motivates him even more.

"Spain will force us to be at our best. It's a very competitive game, so it will probably come down to the details. We have to be mentally and physically prepared for that".
