The Argentina forward wants to repeat the feat achieved by Italy's Paolo Rossi

Lionel Messi's head is filled with one idea that is repeated over and over again, the same as in that of millions of Argentines: to finally lift the World Cup.

Argentina will meet Croatia in the semifinal of the World Cup in Qatar on Tuesday and they have history in their favour -- they have never lost a World Cup semifinal.

But Messi's ambitions do not stop there. He aspired to win a historic treble that has only been achieved once, and it's been 40 years since it happened: winning the World Cup, the Golden Boot and the Golden Ball for the competition's best player.

Since the Golden Ball has been added, at the Spain World Cup in 1982, only one player has won the treble: Paolo Rossi. He want the World Cup with Italy, beating Germany in the final, was top scorer with six goals and named the MVP of the finals.

At the current World Cup, Messi has four goals, the some as France's Olivier Giroud and one less than Kylian Mbappe. There are still two games to -- a final or a third-place playoff -- and Argentina want their third World Cup trophy.
