Giroud hit a milestone and Mbappe is creeping up behind him

Olivier Giroud became France’s all-time top goalscorer in the team’s comfortable win over Poland to see them reach the World Cup quarter-finals.

The 2018 winners shall face England there, and looked formidable, largely thanks to Kylian Mbappe who bagged a brace.

Mbappe set up Giroud for the first and then hammered home two himself.

Robert Lewandowski missed a penalty but it was re-taken after Hugo Lloris moved off his line and the Barcelona forward netted at the second attempt to get a consolation for his side.

Mbappe, 23, has 33 goals in 63 France games and is catching up with Giroud’s new record of 52 already.
