There's just one point between La Liga's top two and everything to play for

With the Clasico out the way, which ended with Real Madrid winning 2-0, Barcelona have no other choice but to pick themselves up and go again.

Zinedine Zidane's side didn't only return to the top of La Liga (one point clear of Barça) they also took the head-to-head record between the two teams, which will be vital if they finish level on points.

There are 12 games to go and 36 points to play for. If Lionel Messi and Co. want to retain the title, they will have to overcome some of their biggest weaknesses.

AWAY FORM

To start with, they are obliged to improve away from Camp Nou. The Blaugrana have double the points at home (37) as they do on the road (18). While they have only dropped points once in 13 home games (a goalless draw against Madrid), on the road they have as many losses as wins (5), in addition to three draws.

Don't forget they will have to manage their small squad with Champions League football, too. Napoli visit Camp Nou on Mar. 18.

IMMEDIATE REACTION

Next up is Real Sociedad on March 7 at Camp Nou. Also to come at home are Leganes, Athletic Club, Atletico Madrid, Espanyol and Osasuna.

Away from home, they have to travel to: Mallorca, Sevilla, Vigo (Celta), Villarreal, Valladolid and Vitoria (Alavés). Tough places to go against teams fighting for survival and European qualification.

BALANCED MADRID

You could say Madrid are more consistent. They have given up more points at the Bernabeu (nine wins, four draws), but have also been better on their travels (seven wins, four draws, two losses). They have 31 points at home and 25 away.

They will manage their title push with the Champions League, too. They go to Manchester City on March 17 trailing 2-1 from the first leg.

Their next game is not easy, a trip to Real Betis this weekend. Their away form could mark their title hopes. They also have to go to Real Sociedad, Espanyol, Athletic Club, Granada and Leganes. At home, they face Eibar, Valencia, Mallorca, Getafe, Alaves and Villarreal.
