Who injured Varane's knee as Barcelona scored their second goal?

The French defender managed to play 90 minutes despite the knock

It wasn't Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane's night in Wednesday's Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeu. The Frenchman did manage to play the whole game, though, despite injuring his knee.

Varane picked up the injury in the play which saw him put through his own net to hand Barcelona a 2-0 lead. The doubt now is around who injured the centre-back. Barça's Luis Suarez seemed to try to avoid making contact, as did Dani Carvajal, who came in from behind. Keylor Navas was already beaten.

Varane uploaded a photograph of his badly damaged knee after the game. Back in the dressing room, the pain in his knee added to the pain of losing 3-0 to Barcelona in the Copa del Rey semifinal. But we don't know how he picked up the knock. We don't know if it was Carvajal or Suarez who, involuntarily, injured his knee during the second goal.

It remains to be seen if Varane will be ready in time for the next Clasico, which takes place on Saturday in La Liga, again at the Santiago Bernabeu.
