The much travelled manager will be in charge at Mestalla next season

Former Watford coach Javi Gracia is set to take over at Valencia next season according to multiple reports in Spain on Saturday.

Valencia have been without a coach since they dismissed Albert Celades in June but, per Marca, among others, have now settled on Gracia.

Gracia, 50, has a long and varied coaching career having done well in Spain in the past with Malaga, who he coached between 2014 and 2016.

He has also coached Pontevedra, Cadiz, Villarreal B, Almeria and Osasuna in his homeland and has taken the opportunity to work abroad several times, too.

There were brief spells with Greek sides Olympiacos Volos and Kerkyra, time in England with Watford and a stint in Russia with Rubin Kazan.

Gracia knows that he arrives at a demanding club in Valencia who, despite winning the Copa del Rey last year, have not hit expectations in recent seasons.
