The forward, who is likely to start against Norway, is enjoying a good run of form again and that has sparked interest from Europe's biggest teams. "We're in a great moment of the season after getting ourselves into the Copa del Rey final and getting back with the national team. To be amongst the best always motivates you to do better and keep working hard."

However, when he was asked about the specific interest from Barça, Rodrigo said: "We're still in an early phase of the season and what's left is the most important part. I'm not worried. I still have things I want to achieve with my team and with the national team."

The Valencia man is enjoying the mini revolution in regards to the current Spain squad. "New people have come in and it's creating a new group. The most important thing is to win and, if possible, play well."

"I don't consider myself the number nine of the national team, despite my shirt number. My intention is to bring something to the side, grow and become a key player."
