Domènec Torrent's team beat Kansas City 4-1 with the opening goal being something special

If you look on YouTube you can find plenty of goals and moments from Pep Guardiola's time as FC Barcelona coach. They were goals that clearly possessed a heavy dose of Barça DNA. The switch in play, the touches and the speed when it moved closer to the opponent's goal. In fact, to this day, any goal which resembles that golden era is referred to as having Barça DNA.

And that happened a few days ago, on the 26th July, when New York City opened the scoring in an MLS match against Kansas City. The bench at New York is well known in La Masia. Domènec Torrent is the head coach; Albert Puig is his assistant; Francesc Cos, the health coach; Ismael Camenforte is the fitness coach and Jordi Gris is an analyst there. In the Kansas City side, you could find two other players with a Barcelona past: Ilie Sánchez and Andreu Fontás.

It was 0-0 when the home side began the move which would result in a goal. Three times the ball went back to the goalkeeper from the defenders with both centre backs calm in possession. The goalkeeper then moved the ball a little further up the pitch and that's where it all began to speed up. Three touches were needed to get into the opposition's half. It opened up down the left. It came back centrally, was dummied over by a man who then ran into the box. The ball was sent into him inside the box and his perfect crossed was prodded home at the back post. Passing and movement you'd expect to see at FC Barcelona.

The goal has already received more than 2000 likes and it's one of those goals you can watch over and over again.
