Espanyol and Villarreal are among the teams forced to change their plans this week

Storm Gloria has had all sorts of effects on Spain this week and Spanish football has not been exempt from its complications.

The strong winds have forced many teams in Copa del Rey action this week to change their travel plans for their games in the round of 32, including Espanyol and Villarreal.

Espanyol will play Real Sociedad in San Sebastian on Wednesday but have decided against flying north. Instead, they will get the train to Zaragoza and will get a bus the rest of the way.

Meanwhile, Villarreal have also decided against flying to Girona for their cup game due to the strong winds, which are making it difficult for airplanes to land.

Instead, Javi Calleja's side will get the train from Castellon on Tuesday evening ahead of Wednesday's game. They have also been forced to cancel Tuesday's training session.

As things stand, though, Barcelona are sticking to their plans for Wednesday's game against Ibiza, although they are keeping an eye on developments as Spain stands still in the storm.
